Frogs of Chernobyl

As bad as the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl was, there were some unintended benefits to wildlife. Although you might think nuclear winter would be bad news, the negative effects on the environment might be balanced by the absence of humans. Some large species are moving back like wolves and wild horses but even species that persisted within the blast zone seem to be thriving today. Dr. German Orizaola along with researchers at Uppsala University and University of Oviedo, have found that frogs in the exclusion zone do as good or as better as frogs outside.
